MY DOG IS MISBEHAVING BUT WHY?

You often judge another person by his/her behavior and don’t think about the reason that made him/her behave in that manner. Same can be the case with most of the pet parents, they don't look into the reason because of which their pet is misbehaving rather they get angry and punish their pal. You also might be one of them, who are dealing with the behavioral issues of their furry pal. Although it can be very frustrating when you come home and see your favorite things are chewed or torn off by your dog, if you think logically it can be a sign of your dog’s love and nothing else. Sometimes, it becomes difficult to find out the exact reason for your dog's misbehavior. Therefore, to bring an end to this problem of yours here is the solution.

There are many reasons let’s go through them one by one.

1.    Canine Anxiety

Anxiety is a problem because of which even humans start behaving in a different manner and dogs are no exception to this. Anxiety can be due to many reasons like phobia or separation. They might be stressed about something which you may not be paying attention too, maybe a disease or loneliness. As a result, their anxiety comes out in their behavior. Always study your pal's behavior and try and find a solution to the thing that is making them anxious.

2.    Growing Up

When you were growing up there was a phase that you remember because your body went through some drastic changes due to hormonal changes. Yeah, you got that right "teenage". Similar to that, even dogs pass through an adolescent phase during their growing years. They are filled with energy and often push their boundaries unknowingly. You have to stick to the training you had have given him/her and encourage good behavior during adolescent phase.

3.    Praising Bad Behavior

You will often find their bad behavior cute but never praise that because once a bad behavior is praised or ignored your pooch might think that it is a good thing and you like that. And then, there will be a series of the instances of repetition of that bad behavior which ultimately will not be so cute to you. So, it's better to stop a bad behavior right from the start even though if you feel they look cute.

4.    Lack Of Training

You like a dog and you bring him/ her to your house. But before bringing him/her home, you don't pay heed to the training which he/she would require. This thing might result in a destructive start of a new relationship because some dogs are just full of energy and they won't sit quietly at a place. Such mischievous dogs require a proper training so that they know what sort of behavior can get them into trouble. However, there are some breeds that have laid back attitude, these dogs don't require an extensive training. Therefore, consult a professional trainer who will train your pooch and teach them new commands.

5.    Always Research About The Breed

You should know the characteristics of the particular breed your dog belongs to. For example- Labrador retriever is happy if you take him/her for a walk twice a day but if you have a border collie, those walks aren't enough because Border collie is a breed which is full of energy and requires more exercise than just walks. Hence, learn about the breeds so that you can know how to handle them and understand their behavior.

All said and done, it's very important to understand your pooch because you have a parent and child relationship with your dog. Take interest and pay attention to their behavior and try to understand the reason behind that just like how you do care for your children. This will help you correct their behavior and live happily with them.

Love, understand and teach. Only these three important things you have to follow.
